Access via Levinestraße

The site of the former Cottbus-Nord airfield was used for private aviation from 1910 onwards and as a military airfield from 1933. It remained in operation as a military airfield for the NVA even after the Second World War. The complex of hangars, built in 1932–33 in the hall architecture style of the 1930s, is of great military and architectural historical value. Five of the original seven hangars have been preserved; some are used for cultural events. Hangar 5, a venue for the Cottbus Theatre, served as the setting for the theatre performance »Antigone Europa« at the 2020 Lausitz Festival.

The hangar is accessible at ground level. The venue features built-in seating stands. The seats are accessed via steps 25 cm high. Wheelchair spaces are available at ground level.

Parking

Disabled parking spaces are available on site.

Toilets

There is a toilet block on site, as well as a wheelchair-accessible toilet block, which is accessible via a ramp.
